Planning out suspension work now

so i'm looking at suspension Mods right now, i'm thinking about going with H&R SS Springs .what shocks/struts work best with them? i know i'll prolly need new C/C plates(MM's). I was think AM's Bilstein HD Shock & Strut Package. would they all work good together? opinions welcome :)

Dude honestly. If your just doing it for looks, go cheap as possible. Why waste the money on a serious set up when your car is slow as fuck?

i'm doing it for handling too and a comfy ride :) and honestly, who gives a fuck if its slow or not? i don't see a reason for having 300+HP unless you go to a track or some shit, it's not like your going to use that power on streets.

PureStang 07-01-2008 09:50 PM

different strokes for different folks.

if your really interested in to going with some decent performance, then get a coil overs from MM.

if you looking for a decent setup, go with SS springs and MM Sport Valved Bilsteins and a GT rear sway bar.

Dont we have a suspension forum?

bassman97 07-02-2008 06:59 AM

Good handling and a comfy ride are pretty much exclusive, unless you go w/ coil-overs.

haha thats not nice... If he does do his suspension he would hand you your ass in an autocross course though, and autocross is fun

r3dn3ck 07-02-2008 08:57 AM

you'll want to do some rear sway bar action but other than that your parts list is just right. Enjoy.

I have a little suspension work done lol.

V6_Mustang_Power 07-02-2008 09:56 AM

so

H&R SS Spings
MM's CC Plates
Bilstein HD Shock & Struts
and throw in a rear sway bar.

good?

how would this setup handle? how much of a drop would their be, would it be noticeable?

steeda sport springs
Tokico HP shocks&Struts
Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber Plates
and a Rear Sway bar

quick pic of how it looks stock(suspension wise). would the parts lsited above be noticable?

PureStang 07-02-2008 10:32 PM

same as eibach pro kit and h&r sport springs. 1.5" drop all around

r3dn3ck 07-03-2008 09:10 AM

either package is a good one. I'd go with the steeda springs myself but that's a bias based on nothing.

All of that looks good man, and yes, you will def notice if you do all of those mods at the same time. Looks and performance. Good luck

V6_Mustang_Power 07-28-2008 09:33 AM

i have a quick question, if i take out my front / rear isolaters what are the pro's/cons of it?

will it be lower
will the ride be bumpy
will the springs eventually break? lol...

SLP02GT 07-28-2008 08:34 PM

It will be lower and the suspension may be a little noisy when you hit bumps

PureStang 07-29-2008 08:05 AM

take out your front lower iso's. it will give it the perfect rake.

it may be a lil bit more noisey but other than that, you'll be fine

V6_Mustang_Power 07-29-2008 08:07 AM

well im getting 18x10's in the rear( i have 17x9 in front). so that would give a good mean stance. but if i get them and take out the front lower iso's would it look good?

V6_Mustang_Power 07-29-2008 08:16 AM

should i take out the front lower and upper iso's or just the bottom ones?

PureStang 07-29-2008 08:23 AM

just the bottom ones. as for the 17 fronts 18 rears, you will not lift the rear up with the bigger rim. you will still be running the same outer diameter tires all around.

blownstang 07-29-2008 08:50 AM

I have steeda sports and bilsteins. H&R and Tokico are goo too. Whichever set up you choose you will be happy because all those are quality parts. I didn't really notice much difference from the steeda sports and bilsteins ride wise. Look wise it dropped about 1.25" in the front and 1" in the rear. The car is stiffer. With the stock suspension I was able to bounce the car a bit by pushing down on any corner. Now I can't do that.

Steeda97 07-29-2008 08:58 AM

Dont put 18s out back. Just take out the isos.

V6_Mustang_Power 07-29-2008 04:48 PM

so i took out the front bottom iso's and the stance looks good :D

V6_Mustang_Power 07-30-2008 11:39 AM

ok, anohter question. is would anything eventually get damaged with isolaters out? if not i plan on taking out the top front iso's and the bottom rear iso's so the front will be a abit more lower and the back will be lower but not by that much. good i dea? yes/no?

Steeda97 07-30-2008 03:09 PM

Pictures w/o isolators. Now!

SLP02GT 07-30-2008 03:27 PM

pics or :banhim:

Steeda97 07-30-2008 04:47 PM

I think i might go ahead and take them out too. Anyone know the easiest way?
