Springs
CC Plates
shocks/struts.

Dave04Mustang 04-19-2008 08:16 PM

you need the springs, shocks, struts. Depending on how low you go CC plates as well. 2" you need CC plates for sure, 1.5" 50/50 chance. Anything thats 1"-1.25" you should be able to get it aligned without new CC plates. Then do it yourself or will have to pay to have them installed. After you will need to get a wheel alignment

GottiDC 04-19-2008 08:18 PM

so how mush do the springs, shocks, struts cost? and how mush do you think it will be to get it installed

Dave04Mustang 04-19-2008 08:20 PM

figure about 220-240 for springs, 300-500 for shocks/struts, 200 for CC plates (if needed), installation I have no idea DIY, some friends and a case of beer = success haha. Best bet is to call around shops and get quotes

GottiDC 04-19-2008 08:26 PM

can i get these spring from american muscle

Dave04Mustang 04-19-2008 08:29 PM

you could but AM doesn't have a wide variety of shocks/struts. In the long run it would probably be cheaper to buy these as a package:

Dave04Mustang 04-19-2008 08:33 PM

from the choices in that link if you don't want a hardcore drop but you want to lower it a little 1"-1.25" would be good for you and that would be either: steeda or the Mach 1 suspension package. If you want a medium drop the eibach Pro Kit that will lower 1.5". Then if you want a big drop 2" go with the eibach sportline you will need CC plates with those that do not come in the package

GottiDC 04-19-2008 08:33 PM

so would these work
http://www.stangmods.com/Mach-1-Susp...0-machsusp.htm

and how mush did it cost to get your cars lowerd. could i know the price of each item you bought, and how mush it cost for them to install

Dave04Mustang 04-19-2008 08:36 PM

yeah those would give you about a 1" drop front/back

Dave04Mustang 04-19-2008 08:43 PM

me personally I don't know how much it costs to get them installed. I'll be buying this package this summer: http://www.stangmods.com/Mustang-Sus...ge-p/00286.htm . I've priced around for many months and its cheaper buying them together than getting each item separate. Like I said though many install their own parts on this board, so it will probably be faster calling local places than waiting for someone to post a price. Where you live also impacts the labor rates so theres no set price

Grab an Eibach Pro Kit, and some Mach 1 Take Off Shocks/Struts, and your looking at around 550 dollars. Something around that. Anything above 1.5" inch drop is going to need alot more work. I personally think 1.5" inches is alright, around 2" would be perfect but 1.5" isn't bad.

GottiDC 04-19-2008 10:10 PM

what size tires u got on there cuz it looks like h have 19 on your car

GottiDC 04-19-2008 10:17 PM

Still comes out to about the same from what I've seen. The Mach's ran the Tokico performance which runs about 337 new and a pro kit costs 260, so total about 600.

Gotti- the tires are 275/40/17 and the emblem is for the 40th anniversary emblem since its a 2004

engineman312 04-20-2008 03:27 AM

you have to ask yourself what you really want out of a suspension.

try stangsuspension.com they've got good stuff and pretty decent prices. try the maxium motorsports kits. $1000 for pretty much everything you need to get started.

GottiDC 04-20-2008 06:19 AM

is there a way I can buy that 40th emblem on some website
and will 275/40/18 fit on a 18x8 rim?

And what kind of diffrence would I see from a 245/40/18 to a 275/40/18 will it be a bigger tire?

your sidewall would be off with a larger tire like a 275 you need a 275/35/18 for a 18" rim. Don't by the emblem if you don't have a 04 don't put a 40th ann badge. Thats like putting a GT or Cobra badge on a V6

bassman97 04-20-2008 12:45 PM

Get the FRPP Handling Pack. $500 shipped from buyfordracing.com and includes everything you need. Same stuff as in the Mach 1/Bullitt so it's about a 1" drop and handles a million of times better than the Eibach Pro Kit. Also, if you decently mechanically inclines, get yourself a decent jack/jack stand set and do it yourself. Time consuming but a very easy mod.
