I Finally "Sprung"

I am finally getting rid of the 4x4 look. I have been researching into the new 2008 GT/CS's as previously stated but decided to keep my stang as it is paid off, and i plan on just modding the crap out of it.

I ordered:
Eibach Pro Kit
Tokico HP Shocks/Struts.

I plan on getting CC plates soon after. I'll have pictures as soon as they are installed.

Woo hoo!

Install the springs, shocks/ struts, wait about 2- 3 weeks, then try to get the car aligned and see what happens.

I'm assuming so everything can settle to it's final positions before you get aligned?

03gtmustang 01-06-2008 03:22 PM

Yes, so everything can settle, but Im also curious to see if he can get it aligned without getting C/C plates.

Isn't that hard on the tires? The wait. How much of a drop is he getting? I didn't have any trouble with mine.

PureStang 01-06-2008 05:03 PM

its the 1.5 drop all around (unless he leaves the front iso out...then its about 1.6-1.7 lower) i have yet to get an alignment on my prokit. lol...its been a couple of months...but its been in the garage for about 95% of the time since instal lol

03gtmustang 01-06-2008 06:09 PM

Itll be fine on the tires for a couple weeks. You dont have much of a choice anyways, the springs need to settle.

Steeda97 01-06-2008 08:30 PM

Hold on. Whats going to be hard on the tires? I don't need the CC plates, i've been told it was just something nice to have. I'm going to need to get an alignment your saying? I drive this car everyday..

I spent pretty good money on my tires. Should i wait and get the CC plates before installing everything? Wheres r3d? hahaha.

StormsGT 01-07-2008 02:39 AM

Mine went straight to the alignment shop. The springs didn't need any time to settle, but I have progressive rate springs. Maybe that makes a difference. Same deal on the nova. I put all new springs in it and took it straight to the shop. On it a used big block springs, so not much settling there.

Nothing. Wait 2 weeks before getting the car aligned.

Okay, lets not F around here. This is my car not an experiment.

03gtmustang 01-07-2008 12:37 PM

If you would take two seconds to read what Im saying. You'd understand.

THE SPRINGS NEED TIME TO SETTLE. IF YOU GET AN ALIGNMENT RIGHT AFTER THE SPRING INSTALL, THEN IT WILL BE OFF IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS BECAUSE THE CAR WILL BE LOWER. Get it yet!?

Dont tell me to stop fucking around when you dont have a clue whats going on.

Curiousity? If chances are its not going to work then tell me. Thats what i mean by don't f around.

03gtmustang 01-07-2008 12:45 PM

Theres a chance you might not need to get c/c plates if the car can be aligned without them. So dont buy them right off the bat. Wait until you bring the car in.

Steeda97 01-07-2008 07:27 PM

Thanks.

stanger00 01-08-2008 07:03 PM

if they cant align your car than why would you pay. i know i didnt pay when i was shown my alignment chart the had red crap all over it. they didnt even have the before figures...

StormsGT 01-09-2008 02:33 AM

I still say you can get it done without the wait. Thats just an old wives tall.

Steeda97 01-09-2008 08:21 AM

I think we need R3D or Zig to chime in on this one.

theponyfactor 01-09-2008 09:20 AM

Save up and get teh c/c plates and install everything at once. wait 2 weeks and get it aligned, just to be safe.

Steeda97 01-11-2008 01:00 PM

I don't have the tools nor the time to do this install. Anyone got a good guess on how much installation should be?
