MM C/C plate spacer question

I am installing H&R ss springs, Tokico Illumina dampers and MM c/c plates. I thought I ordered struts for a 79-93 Fox to get the .5 of travel (3026 series) but I ended up with the ones for my year (3140 series). I am having a little trouble figuring out how to place the spacers. I'm not having a problem with clearance so I'm not worried about that. Do the bottom spacers need to touch the bearing plate? Thanks for any help.

Nevermind, I think I got it. I just went by the instructions for the lowered car. I wasn't getting the strut shaft far up enough through the bearing plate. They stick up pretty far through the bearing plate, but I still have enough clearance. I put about .5-.75'' of putty on top of the shaft and closed the hood, it didn't even squish it.

I put as much on top of the plate as I can get away with for cars that see track time. Usually they don't have fender liners either. You'll want to check your bump travel with each spacer you move to the top.
