Panhard bar

Hi, Here is my problem. I purchase a 93 mustang GT. When I turn a corner or give it a little gas it feels like the rearend on the left side is wanting to "walk" around on me.

So, I end up looking at the rearend upper control arm brushings. They are shot. One is so bad it's not even there. I pulled it apart to replace the brushings. The frame mounting location is completely beat out, unusable. it's junk - the guy I purchased this car from must have been driving with this problem FOR A REALLY LONG TIME. Frame bracket needs to be replaced. Given that this is a unibody and Ford doesn't make it anymore. Do you Gents, have any suggestions.

My first thought was to go to a junk yard and "cut" out the piece needed and weld it back in. But, then I thought I'd run it by you guys first and see if you have a lot better suggestion on how to fix this.

If I went with a Panhard bar do I need to keep the upper control arms or can I just get rid of them?

W/ a panhard bar, you still need the upper arms, unless you go w/ a torque arm. Another option is to buy the upper brackets from this place that offers reinforced pieces w/ multiple control arm attachment points. Unfortunately, I don't have the site w/ me now but I believe they are from Jersey if that helps.

torque arm it. You're going to have to rebuild the mounting brackets if you want to stay with a 4 link.

The PHB is required with the torque arm and vice versa. I have em... wouldn't ever want a mustang without them. Massive grip upgrade.
