Lower the stang
 

i kno this should be in the suspension section but i thought i would get more hits here

I wanna get h h &r lowering springs because i like the stance. should i get c/c plates? and are new shocks and struts really necesarry?

C/C no but shocks/struts are a must. However, get the C/C plates to make alignment adjustment easier and more accurate.

which h&r springs? the sport springs all you need is to install them. but if you go with the super sport or race springs you will need new shocks/struts, cc plates and maybe a bump steer correction kit.

so if i just want the sport springs i dont need anything else? is that correct?

I have the H&R supersports and I did not get CC plates or new shocks. Obviously this isn't reccomended but it can be done. I have been lucky and have no irregular tire wear but I'm sure the ride would improve a great deal with the correct shocks.

I am not a fan of mixed and matched suspension parts. These things are tuned to work together on a street car. If your car has miles on it like it does, you should definately get struts/shocks with springs. You will be amazed at how it handles especially with a car with 100k on the ticker.

BUT, if you were my kid, I would say leave it stock and save your money for a GT.

i have a GT now, i sold my 6er two weeks ago lol, i sold it for more than i payed for it 2 years ago and i put 14,000 miles on it

do the shocks and struts when you screw with the springs. You're in there anyway and being lowered will smoke the stockers in a relatively short amount of time.

CC plates I think are a very good idea. Tire friendly alignments are hit and miss without them.

Moving to suspension where it belongs.

so i should do everything then. well that sounds a little pricey - looks like i should start saving fo this and i should have the funds by next summer

plates are optional with those springs but they'll save their cost in tires in a year or so. There's no sense in cheaping out. Do it right the first time and you'll be ahead of 90% of the other tards out there that didn't take good free advice.

I don't deny that I am one of those "tards." However, I have also had to modify on a budget and I took a chance with the supersports and got lucky. Just to play devil's advocate, you may not have any problems at all. Best bet though is to do it right from the start if at all possible.
