Looking to lower 04 GT
 

So I have 2004 Mustang GT with tons and tons of mods already. I got the thumbs up for my next project from the wife to lower my car. I'm looking to lower it from 1" to 1.5", I want to make sure that I don't change the geometry of the suspension too much. This is car is primary a street and show car, I do go on a bunch of fun drives with my Stang car club. I would like to start with just springs at first and keep the stock struts and shocks and then upgrade once I have saved more $$. I'm not a 100% if I need a Caster Camber plate with a 1" to 1.5" drop and this is one of my major reasons for waiting todo the project.

I have 18x9 Rims in the front with 245/35/18 Sumo's and 18x10 in the rear with 275/35/18 Sumo's.

Get some H&R sports or steeda sports or FRPP B or F springs. You'll want to replace the shocks and struts soon. They're not designed to work with those increased spring rates.

With such a mild lower CC plates would be really nice for your alignment guy but not totally necessary. I'd still recommend them but it's your call.

I just lowered my GT. I used the Eibach Pro kit. The looks and stance of my car is great. You can see a pic of it on MT web site under hypercoated FR500s. As far as the suspension geometry I would say GET THE CC plates. I didnt think I would need them cuz its such a mild change but I DID. It prolly had something to do with me putting the factory CC plate a fraction off target when I did the lowering job myself. But what ever caused it my front end wouldnt align correctly until I got CC plates on. It really a small price to pay to keep from eating 18 inch tires, thay cost to much not to get CC plates

Damn those are some small tires you have on those 18x9's and 18x10's.
