Spring Install...Any advice?
Well, got the Eibachs for christmas. Install tomorrow. Any advice/helpful pages?

Yes, follow my write up, http://www.dndgarage.net/springinstall.htm PM me if you have any problems.

Good write up, only thing I did different was remove the struts at the spindle instead of the strut tower. Just take your time, you will be fine.
|
Thanks guys, good write-up. I will let you know how it goes.
|
Ohhhhhhh, got the springs in no problem. Thanks for the write-up, it helped a lot. We did a few things separately. 1, we left the tie rods alone. 2, we only undid the ABS cable from its brackets instead of taking it all the way off. I can see how you would want to do it differently if you only had one person working though. I had my cousin to help me. I will try to get some pics up soon of the car. Thanks again.

Glad it helped you.

okay, so this doesn't have anything to do with my spring install, but I have been having MAJOR brake dust issues. I put new pads, front and back, on my car before I left for college. They squeak a little bit, which is also VERY annoying. The pads I got are Bendix Titanium Metallic II, which I thoguht were pretty good pads. Does anyone have any advice for me?

I was looking at my wheels last night, and I kinda noticed (just by looking) that it seems like the front wheels are almost slanted like this / \ Its obviously not that bad, and they might not even really be slanted. I know that I should probably take it in for an alignment in a week or so after the springs settle, but is that something that they would fix? The car drives fine, it doesn't pull either way, but if the wheels are slanted I know it would wear my tires irregularly. What do you guys think?

You can try adjusting the cater/ camber, whatever it is.
|
Well, yeah I kinda figured that, I just don't want to throw off my alignment by doing something like that.
|
Its already thrown off...
|
1) Always get an alignment after doing springs
2) I didn't undo the tie rod ends either, but it made it hell taking the springs out. there was a little bit of tension still in them so I used a motorcycle tie down to tie the thing down while I stood out of the way and popped her loose. Nice looking car sir. |
So I believe I am going to get the Maximum Motorsports CC Plates...this should ensure that I don't end up paying for 2 alignments if the shop cannot get my car aligned without them. Do I need anything else along with what comes with the plates? (such as bushings....etc...)
|
anyone?

I know your name is 03gtmustang, so I would assume it would be that year. Just curious since I did not see the year described in this article? |

I finally completed my suspension project... I'm very happy with my choices.
My car now handles like it is on rails with no need to worry about wrecking my under carriage of my car. My springs dropped it about 1.5 inches in the front with adjustable control arms in the back to drop as low or raise as high as I want. :) |
