Shocks/Struts

I hope I dont sound too stupid with this question but please bear with me...

Is it bad to mix and match shocks and struts? By this I mean different in the back then in the front.

I can get a good deal on Illumina Tokico shocks but will it be bad if I get a different strut in the front? (probably the tokicos that come in the mach 1)

Im not trying to be cheap Im just trying to see what my options are and if this would be bad for my car.

Bilstein says to replace as a set (of 4). I wouldnt mix and match.

A lot of people mix and match shocks and struts. I know people running QA1 shocks and Strange struts.

I thought that type of setup was for drag racing...not a DD.

Yes, but you're still mix and matching. If its just standard stuff then probably get all the same.

my statment about not mixing was assuming his car was only a DD and not a drag car.

of course you can mix and match. They say replace all 4 because they want more of your money. its business after all guys.

the specific mix you're speaking of should be just fine. the valving rates are very similar. the Mach1 struts aren't adjustable unlike illuminas.
