Suspension

ok i plan on lowering my cobra with eibach springs and the eibach strut and shock kit...are these the only neccessary items in this process or will i also need caster chamber plates, control arms, tie rods, etc.? i just want it done right the first time. thanks.

When you lower your car you move your suspension geometry. The shocks and struts will help on your ride comfort. I would get the offset steering rack bushings and CC plates. The bumpsteer kit, and different ball joints like steedas, you really don't have to get but it will help on getting the car to better specs.

To add to that you should up grade you shocks and struts as well as the Isolators as its only a matter of time when they will blow out. Remember stock shocks are made for the stock ride anything below that and your shocks are on borrowed time. It may last a while or not but why risk it.

He said hes getting the shock and strut kit too.

Oh yeah missed it, get the isolators there are the dounut shaped and go on top and bottom of springs which help keep springs quiet. If you remove them it will lower the ride more.

what about control arms?

When you want to go to the track and control wheel hop. Then the control arms.

96'Cobra 07-13-2006 05:54 PM

what's the difference between the two?

96'Cobra 07-13-2006 05:57 PM

so springs, shocks, struts, isolators, cc plates, steering rack bushings, tie rod, and balljoint...am i missing anthing or does that sound about right?

That's everything that i have. but you don't have to get the tie rods, not stock ones, the bumpsteer kit. same as the Steeda ball joints. The rest i would get. also make sure it's the offset steering rack bushings and read the directions, skinny part goes at the 6 oclock position.

The control arms are at the rear of your car connecting rear body to the rear differential, replacing those won't help on the ride stance of your car, its more for performance/track gain to stop wheel hop, so that isn't a must for now.

what if i add 4:10 gears?

r3dn3ck 07-16-2006 08:20 AM

I like peanut butter can you swim?

Exactly... gears have little to nothing to do with suspension. They're internal parts.
