I have seen a post or 2 about having wheels widened. Anyone ever hear of this or know how practical it is?

I wouldn't try that...severe balance issues.

I bet thats expensive. maybe the technique has come along way in the last 10 years...

I was 18 workin at my first repair shop... we had a car come in with widened wheels out back and they were a nightmare to balance.

Have you tried contacting American Muscle about these wheels they might be able to hook you up.

I had those on my 03 Gt. Looked exactly like yours actually. They are stock rims and I could not find them in anything else but stock size.

only come in 17x8. wish they came in 17x10.5!

I was goona recommend the same website, www.weldcraftwheels.com. They can do anything you want from widening to narrowing. I saw a guy on modular depot that widened his rims and he said it was $350 to do it plus $60 for shipping. It looked awesome and he didnt say anything about it being a PITA to balance them.
