I have one and saw no loss in reception. I asked AM when I ordered it and they told me that if I was somewhat close to a major city then I would be fine, otherwise I should go with the 14 inch.

I personally like the way they both look. The 14 inch is nice because it's pretty much the same height as the car but the 8 inch is good if you need to cover your car like I do.

I have the 14in one only because of the previous reply about it being even with the height of the car which i like. Either way you shouldn't lose reception my buddy has the 8in and works fine.

Exactly...I'd rather hear the sound of my exhaust any day.

screw buying, just cut yours down. Thats what i did, I made it the same height as my roof line and it looks tight. all you have to do it pop off the ball on the top, i used a claw hammer, make sure you keep an eye on it if it flys off. I cut to length after I measured it and ground down the tip to make sure the ball fits on again..total time 30 minutes, cost $0.

I would have cut mine considering how easy it would be but unfortunately my 04 came with a silver colored antenna and that would have just ruined my black and red styling!
