Default wiring issue

its a 90 gt thats been converted to carb with a full msd ignition. the issue that im having is that the battery isnt being charged enough to restart the car after being run for about 30 minutes or so. i found out tonight that the battery is back feeding through the alt for some reason. i leave the alt plugged in and it gets hot and drains the battery and when i unplug it the alt stays cool and the battery stays charged. the alt has been replace 3 different times and still the same issue. does anybody have any insight on where to start looking and what the problem might be? please help

have you checked to see if any of the wires are powered up with the key off? the one from the alt back to the batt will be of course. sounds like to me the regulator is being held on.
