Talking wut do you think about gears on an everday driver????

just wonderin how everyone feels about a gear swap on an evevryday driver... want to do it because it seems like an easy way to add power, but i also do not want to have to worry about it if i do do it?? please any opinions and recomendations will be appreciated

One of the best thing's you can do for your car is change the gear's.

some of you people on this forum feel the need to make peopele feel like complete idiots and i dont understand you... if you want to help then help if you dont then dont... no need to make stupid comments that do either of us any good... wqsn't looking for technical info was looking for people's opinions...as for those of you who do help i want to thank you in advance

the gear thread will answer all of your questions. its a long read but what your asking has been answered numerous times.....

gears are a sort of expensive mod. 200 for gears 200-250 for install (typically) 300-400 for a tuner so you can correct the speedo. for the 05+ GT's you mine as well get a CAI with a tuner.

so if you want to stack miles on your car faster without a tuner than do the gears.

definantly gears on a daily driver. go wit sumtin like a 3.73 if ur worried, more pull and fine on E-way AND city

There alot of tools on this site for sure. if you search we have a gear thread sticky at the top of one of the sections.

i run 3.73 in my fox. with about a 26" tall wheel/tire package. because the gears help, the motor barely works just tooling around town. so i get 20 mixed, and about 24 on the interstate cruising at 70-75 mpg turning 2500-2750 rpm.

does just fine, i can comfortly be doing 35mph in 5th gear in a cammed 5.0 that makes not much torque...
