Default exhaust question?

im going to install a full mac exhaust on my 97 cobra. i do have a couple questions b4 i do tho. i want to start with the catback and do the headers and x pipe in about a month. i was told i would definantly be better off getting a 3" catback. would u guys says its worth paying the extra hundred or so for that extra half inch? also any extra power? if so, my next question is does a 3" system bolt directly onto any mac x pipe or is there a fatter x pipe, or some1 let me know how that works.

Stick w/ the 2.5". Even w/ a power adder, you aren't going to gain much from the 3" system.

Yep the 3 inch is way to much. You will lose HP with that. They are made for 600HP car's and then they really don't need them that big alway's.

But it does sound good.

I have the 2.5 with a Magnaflow catted X pipe and Magnaflow 4 inch tip's and love it.

No need for 3" at all. But if you do get it, it will bolt to there h-pipe from what they told me.

I've been looking for a short X for our cars, and the only one I can find is SLP's modular X-pipe. Mac only offers a short H or pro-chamber for us. Did you find an X-pipe already? Please let me know where.
