i have a few questions about it. not really sure where to post them so ill just ask them here. my car only came with one key. my bf thinks that it is a chipped key is it? and did the mustangs come with keyless remotes? and what would the best way to get a new key be? and would i be able to get a keyless remote for it from the dealer or something?

$50? id like to go to whatever dealer that is! the one near here charges $79.95 for a new key. that's why i've been extra careful and not losing mine

Your mustang DOES NOT have a chip in it. you can buy blank keys and take them to the dealership to be cut but bring your car so they can get the vin off it. they wont cut a key with just a vin unless you have the title or are a known customer with that vehicle.

As for buying a remote... you need to purchase one with THE SAME FCC number on the back and it has to be programmed to your vehicle. I believe you can program up to 4.

Your car also has switched out wheels from a v6 model. your car came from the factory with true dual exhaust so my guess is that different mufflers have been welded in or its stock and your boyfriend isnt used to the v8 modular sound.

really???? please explain more.

i have 2 patz labled keys for my car, i was gonna buy a FORD labled key and have it cut to my car but the dudes said my other keys wont work if i did this. he said all you can do with them is open the trunk and door. if i tried to start my car it would lock up something and i wouldnt be able to start my car again.

remotes are easy just turn your car to the ON position about 8 times or until your doors lock and unlock hit a button on the remote and its programmed.
