Whats a good chrome wheel cleaner? I want something that is reputable and wont eat the damn chrome off the wheels!

 

Meguire's "A to Z", it has a neutral PH... Although carwash soap and water is the safest.

Soap and water are going to be some of the friendliest. Almost all of the wheel cleaners you by OTC (counter) are very harsh and contain high amounts of acid.

I highly highly recommend these. There is a gel and liquidy version, the liquid is almost identical and a couple bucks less.

Just as important as a good cleaner, make sure you use a very soft and good brush. Chrome is very very delicate, and once it's scratched, they can't come out!!!

Use a sealer specifically for wheels.

that's good for removing chrome, not cleaning it.

only use wheel cleaner if the wheels are caked, otherwise use carwash soap and a good wheel polish.

the OTC Meguire's A to Z has a neutral PH, meaning there is no acid. I'm sure there's better stuff, but none commercialy available, from what I've seen.

 

I've seen alot of the guys with DUB and Lexani wheels use the Meguiar's chrome wheel cleaner and they all seem to live by it. I'de say go with that if they are going to use it on some expensive rims like those and not have any problems.

Meguiars is great stuff, I don't think they make a single sub-par product. I use Sonus rim bright myself which is also Ph balanced. You can buy sonus stuff at www.autopia-carcare.com They also sell P21s wheel wash but its more expensive and the rim bright works great for me.



Also someone else had mentioned how important your brush selection is, make sure you use something with bristles that are tough enough to get the road grime, but soft enough to not scratch. I recommend the meguiars gold class brushes .
