Will a t45 from a 1997 cobra fit on a 1990 5.0?... the t45 has a mechanical speedo just like the t5 on the 5.0. Im assuming as long as the bell housing was changed it should work? maybe..? has anyone done this before?

 

my fox came with a 3550 in it. i dont think its the same as a t45 though, but im not sure. the 3550 needs a special bell housing and shifter. possibly clutch and throwout bearing. the speedo and electrical all was the same, the flywheel/pp/clutch are the same. but my 3550 was a 26 spline.

But its rather pointless... t45 is heavier... you'd be better off getting the T5 built

well im not putting it on my fox so i really dont care. A buddy of mine asked if he could buy my stock t45 cuz i swapped a t56 into my cobra. I just wanted to make sure it would work b4 i sold it to him

 

all it takes is a bellhousing swap like you said.

 

so if i take the bell housing off his stock t5 and put it on the t45 its good to go?
