Default How much does..

Window tinting normally cost? I'm going as dark as I legally can on all * counts * 6 of my windows (includes the little triangular ones) ;x

I'm guessing probably around $120 or so..

You do NOT want tint on the front windshield. I'm pretty sure it's illegal in all states anyways.

Cost me $225 when I got mine done. Was $50 more since I got 20% which is illegal and another $35 for a strip across the top of my windshield.

So staying legal and without the strip it would of been $140 for me.

the 6th window would be the windshield which can be legally tinted in California, but only like a 3 or 4" strip(it has to be above the ASI line or whatever it's called) and it has to be a certain amount of inches above your headrest. the DMV website has the right info. However i don't think any tint is legal on your main side windows so if you do tint it get only like a 50%. I had 20%(which isn't that dark at all) and i got popped for it. And you know the High Desert CHP's are real *********.

Cool

i know its illegal but i have a buddy who works at a tint shop that has double 5% limo tint on all windows a 20% across the entire windshield and has yet to get ticketed for it but he usually drives with the front windows down so they dont attract much attention

I went out and got uh... 5% or w/e it is on my back 3 windows... and a really light 30% or so on my side windows.. he said it was illegal, but most cops will let it fly... the windshield... yea...can't happen. I'm just going to stick the clubs sticker up there instead.... i just wanted the windshield tint for the looks anyways.. no biggie. But I now have uh... 61% of sunlight blocked or w/e with the ATR? (i forget what its called) tint..

Paid 210, 3 hour instal, lifetime waranty ..

Yea, CA. My side windows are illegal, because apparently you can't have any tint on them... (don't see how BMW and Mercedes gets away with it) it may be lighter then 30%..not sure.. i'd have to check the reciept...i just said "I want to be as dark as I legally can be." and he was like "the side windows are still going to be illegal" but i was like "oh well, i want that one."

Since they come from factory I'm assuming they are ok.

I know in Ohio it was %50 was legal on sides, and recently it's been darkened to %35.

Point being, I had %20 on my old Mustang and got a ticket for being to dark. Good luck in the already over stricted state of CA.

I don't think I'll have too much of a problem with it..my buddy has darker tint on his side windows and he hasn't been ticketed yet.. but..everyone has different luck..

And yea..CA needs to down some of these laws... lol

I dont understand how people can tint the windshield all the way @ 20% and drive safely at night.

i got 15% on all but the front of course and it cost me $140. he charged me an extra $20 because it was lower then the limit in florida which is 35% on front windows and i tihnk 15% on the back only. But 35% is just to light 15-20% is nice as its dark enough to keep the sun out but at night i can still see very well.
