Default My first post

Hell All.

This is my first post. I got a 2000 V6 Manual Mustang. Which I brought brand new. I was always thinking about doing some customizing but it took about 4 to 5 years before I did anything. So far this is what i have done.

First Stage
Billet Gas latch
Billet Grill
Mustang Third Brake light
Flowmaster Force 2 Catback Exhaust system with 3 inch pipes
BBK Cold Air Induction System
MAC V-6 Long Tube Headers
V-6 2.5 H Pipe for Long tubes
Eibach Anti Roll Kit
Eibach Pro Kit Springs
Power Slot Rotors Front and Rear
EBC Performance Brake Pads Front and Rear

DynoRun on 3/15/06
184.48 Hp
210.62 Torque

I am starting my second stage on Jan 2nd
Vortech V-6 8 lbs S-trim Polished Supercharger
65MM BBK V6 BBK V6 Throttle body
Pro-5.0 T5 & T45 Manual Shifter
Billet 5 Spd Flat Shift ****

I will be interested to see what the DynoRun turns out to be.

If anyone else has some other ideas, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

That 190 is rated at the crank of the engine not the wheels like a dyno. On the dyno things like rotating mass, drivetrain loss etc. effect power numers.

yea as for the power rating you put in your profile, highly unlikely to be up to 220, espeicailly with an intake, some mufflers and a tune. advertised power for products isn't usually what your getting unless theirs dyno charts for proof.

Default new supercharger pic

I got a new pic from the shop with my installed supercharger. I am waiting for Vortech to update the computer, so hopefully I will be picking it up on Monday. After that I will probably do a DynoRun to see the added power.

It is indeed a 8psi from Vortech, no intercooler. I hope to get it into a Dyno shop later next week to see the HP gains.

One question I had was:

I took my car to a Dynoshop to update the computer since I added headers, Cold air intake, dual exhaust. Now Vortech will update the computer to handle the supercharger, will it still have all the correct data for the headers and daul exhaust. Or will I need to have the dynoshop redo everything? I am not a expert on these types of installs. Thanks,

redo everything. I am assuming your talkinga bout the vortech FMU, it is FAR better to get a real tune. once you add boost, EVERYTHING changes.

Well, I got my car dyno'ed today here are the results.

255 Hp Rear wheels
263 ft/lbs torque

I will see what type of times this will take off my 1/4 mile time and then think if switching gears and a GT rear end. But the car runs much better now.

are you going to try to put in IC on it eventually? or maybe water/meth injection?

By IC I assume you mean Intercooler? What would be the advantage of getting an intercooler added?

makes the air much more dence just like a cai colder air = more air forced into engine = more HP

it dramatically cools the air down allowing for more timing more boost and overall dencer cooler air = more hp

a supercharger/turbocharger makes a lot of heat, and manny times your intake temperatures without an intercooler can be very hight 150*+ depending on the boost levels.

in your application you could get an IC setup, repully the vortech for 10psi and retune it an pick up 40-50whp or more.

Thanks for your comments. I will do some price checks on IC. What is involved in repullying the supercharger. Do you mean buying a newer pully and switching the current one it has?

Do you have any suggestions on good IC's. Also is the setup of installing a IC something simple, or should I have a pro do it. Thanks,
