Its Kenne Bell, not kenny.

What blower are we talking about here? You should be fine @9psi.

Who is mustang muscle? If its too much power you can just detune it no problem, or change the pulley. But youll probably be right around 400rwhp. http://www.kennebell.net/supercharge...2v/gt96-04.htm

I never said there was anything wrong with researching. Good job!

People run 10lbs on stock bottom ends. If you dont drive the car crazy and have a damn good tune then itll last while. You could always drop down to an 8 psi pulley.

The 1.7 and the 2.1 with 9psi are perfectly safe for stock GT's. Who is tuning the car? It all depends on the tune. That should put you right around 400rwhp and thats just about all you want on the stock 2v.

If this shop Mustang Muscle is saying it wont be safe then you need to go to another shop because they obviously dont know what theyre talking about

No, youll need a dyno tune. I wouldnt run on any mail order tune with a power adder. Even NA mail order tunes arent perfect.

have you already ordered the KB? If not then go through Modular Powerhouse. Tim is the best in the country for tuning 2v's and if you buy from him he will mail you a tune that plugs into your car and youll be set to go! Check it out:

I believe that includes shipping, installation and dyno tune as well. They are a great shop. You should be safe with 9 psi. Like AZRoush said, it all depends on your tune. I wouldnt use the mail tune.

Ed Clark from Steen Racing. They are located in Norfolk, VA. That shop is great too. They like to use the SCT tuners. Which was good cuz I already had the xcal tuner.

Yep you can, no problem. Ed tuned my car with my SCT chip. Then I got rid of that for a xcal 2.

If they are telling you its not safe to run on a stock motor, it may be to get you to pay for more work done to the engine than necessary. 8-9#s psi is ok on stock engines. But with more power and performance comes more maintenance. What is your car used for?

Lot of missing info here...

FlyinFox.. what mods do you currently have. It says in your sig you have LT's, right there is going to be around 15+ more RWHP than a stock GT when you add the KB.

Forget Saleen, as stated they can only reach around 10-12 psi. The Stage II's are Eaton and if you won't ever reach 360RWHP after pulleys, CAI, larger supercharger intake, everything, they jsut suck.

If you find a Saleen IV blower, they are a little better. Made by Whipple if that tells you anything.

If you really want a posiitive displacement blower, stick with KB 1.7.

And also, if you don't already have a handheld tuner, the you'll neeed that such as the XCal2. Dyno tuning is going to cost at least $200 with a KB. Install will be around $700 or so if you have a shop do it. Modularpowershouse's price includes the tuner, tune, and install. Also need injector's, fuel pump, etc. for your install.

But first, what's your mods so we can accurately tell you what you need?

I just looked at the website, and KB has upgraded all 1.7L blowers to a 2.1L, WOW where have I been.

I would definately get a KB over a Saleen, but the saleen IV isn't that bad.

your mods are probably going to add about 40RWHP more with the KB than a stock GT w/ a KB.

You are definately going to hit at least 400RWHP. If your a manual, I bet your going to be around 425RWHP with a good tune.

I would definately go down to an 8psi pulley, and a very safe tune. This should put you around 405-410RWHP. Which IMO would be awesome for a street car. With that much torque at your foot as well, it will be nice.

Remember the amount in the engine is one thing, but the amount of boost your put into the engine also can cause pressure failures. Even though there might not seem like a big difference between 9 and 8 psi, I would do 8 psi on a good tune.
