Are ceramic headers worth the extra 60 bucks? I'm planning on getting headers, and o/r h-pipe, and a catback this spring and I was just looking at prices and I didn't know if I should get the ceramic headers or not.

yes and for several reasons. 1 is it lowers under hood temps by as much as 40*, 2 is they'll last longer being coated and the #3 reason is the coating's help hold the heat in the header tube and promotes a better scavenging of the exhaust and can help make a few extra HP

 

yes, its worth it. for the same reasons mentioned above. for me the big differance is the heat savings. i have uncoated shorties on my fox that were there when i bought, my got you open the hood even in the middle of winter and its so hot, and the air box is right there drawing air. The also look better, hold the heat better, and are a ton more corrosion resistant.

 

I thought that stainless steel were the best b/c they can take the most heat the most hp up to like 1200hp and if you want a supercharger or turbo thats the only thing that will withsatnd it. correct me if wrong

what randy said... coated LT's will definatly last a whole lot longer, they wont rust over like non-coated ones.

 

You have to watch with Stainless. Try to avoid any 400 series versions since according to my dad (he makes boiler tubes for a living so I'll take his word), when it's cold outside, a good thud and they'll shatter like glass.
