Buying Pre Painted Parts

I've been looking everywhere online to find a 2002 Cobra front bumper and the only place I've found only sells them pre painted, and not in my color. If I take this to a body shop can then sand off the old color and repaint it my color? I know the obvious answer is yes, but how much more will it cost and will the guys at the shop consider it an extra hassle?

There is no 2002 Cobra. Thats your problem..
lol

And it can cost anywhere from 100-500 bucks for the paint job depending on where you go and who you know.

www.bumper.com will sell you any bumper painted or not in any standard color. Check it out.

Well damnit! You know what I mean, 2001. And I tried bumper.com and didn't get far, this site looks like it was made in 1995.

oops ... wrong site. Goto www.modulardepot.com and do a search on bumper posts. There was a recent post about this site with a link. I visited it a couple of times. I emailed them and got no response though.

They are all original Ford stuff painted by Ford from what I understand, but did not meet specs for extremly minor reasons. So, this place buys them and sells them for very reasonable.

Ive got to let you know that with buying pre-painted bumpers, even if directly from ford, may not match your color exactly 100%. It may be slightly off.

Just a heads up...

Knowing my luck I'd screw it up and have to buy another one.

I know pros that don't bother with this. Cheaper to buy a new one w/o paint and paint it over then to sand the bastard and prep it.
