for those with blacked out tail lights
where did u get them and how hard was it to install..i have done a 05 TL and a 05 magnums tail lights but those where round semi flat surfaces. our tail lights hav 3 steps to them and wondered how hard it was to install.....
www.autobadges.com
they have 50% and black out....and theres another place but i forget... im getting black outs |
autobadges.com has them
they take about 30 mins for me and my friend to do them put soap and water in a spray bottle and spray the tint slightly to be able to move them around until they fit where u want them the kit comes with this blue squiggy thing u press it up against the tint and get all the water and soap out of the tint and let it dry for a couple of hours it fits perfect to our tailights and looks amazing after it is all said and done |
thats how i did the others but it was a pain with those lights i can only imagine with ours
its really not that bad
allot easier with a friend so he can hold it in place so it does not slide with the curves of our tailights |
Mine did'nt come with any tools and I did it dry.I just took my time and was very carefull. It took about a week for all of the little bubbles to go away.Would have been easier if it was warmer than 35 when I did mine but I can never wait to install anything.Got mine from autobadges.com too.
ur not supposed to do it dry :P
best method is soap and water with the squeegy thing |
That is retarded.... I hope you didnt pay 65.00 for 5.00 worth of tint... geez go to walmartand by a roll for 10.00 and do your whole rear end and headlights... thats just a freaking rip off 65.00 ..... damn :stupid:

These are 6 pieces. One for each flat surface of the taillight. I'm getting 50%. |
thats a good price...i payed 60 dollars for mine...hope the saying " you get what you pay for" doesnt apply there
I've heard that the one's from Ebay don't fit right and have to be trimmed.
Its worth saving 40 bux if all i have to do is cut a lil off the edges.
That's true.
you dont get it... its window tint... any moron could trim it with a fresh razor around the lights... geez save your money and do it yourselves its really not that complicated :dots:

a buddy of mine used some spray stuff, cost him like $9, did it a year ago and it still looks awesome, can also be used on the headlights.

Ill ask him tonight, the thing is you can put as dark as you like, it take about 3-4 coats to get a blackout look, so one or two passes would prolly give you a nice darker tint. Im gunna get whats left of his can tonight, Ill give ya the name when I do.
i've had both. The overlay from autobadges and the spray on. I like the spray on alot better, it looks alot cleaner up close. I had mine professionally sprayed by tintmytaillamps.com. Might be a little more expensive, but they did a hell of a job on my tail lights and 3rd brake light.
yea where do they sell the spray? - thanks :punk:
BTW- does the spray effect your headlight color/range - i have purple HIDS and i dont want screw over that investment
