waxing???

k guys, wantin to wax my car but a buddy of mine told me it had to be done when the car is cold. is this true??? cuz i NEVER have time when my car is cold.

Lances03SVT 10-17-2005 07:51 PM

Don't really have to be cold but you don't want it hot or out in the sun.

Mikes04stang 10-17-2005 07:56 PM

well damn. thats kinda hard then considering its still almost 90 degrees in texas.

Lances03SVT 10-17-2005 07:57 PM

As long as your car isnt hot too the touch you should be fine.I waxed mine all summer and it was around 100 the whole time.

Inside somewhere is your best bet. Garage, parking garage, shaded area, basically anywhere where direct sunlight doesnt hit, and shade is given.

thanx for the help guys. i really shouldnt need to clay my car. i havent even had it a year yet. what would you recommend for good wax/polish/soap. ive been using eagle one soap and turtle wax. no polish

Lances03SVT 10-17-2005 08:16 PM

I've been using all of the Meguirs NXT stuff lately and like them alot.Very easy to apply and to remove.Leaves a damn good shine.I like alot of the Eagle one products also.

MattJ 10-17-2005 08:21 PM

soap is mostly soap

meguires nxt is a great cheaper wax, same as mothers fx, or if you have the money, p21s (s100 is cheaper version), ect.

Polish - ive always used eagle 1, but im going to switch to klasse after im out.

Heres the Meguires NXT lineup. There is no polish but they do have the wax and a lot of people have great results from it.

damn, thats alot of different waxes. what do you recommend paste or spray???ive never seen the outcome of spray waxes.

MattJ 10-17-2005 08:40 PM

spray wax is more of a "touch-up" between waxes to keep it looking slick. Get the tech wax.

Mikes04stang 10-17-2005 08:43 PM

thanx man. do you happen to have a link for some good polishes??

maloney 10-19-2005 01:25 PM

waxes

Zaino Brothers wax is awesome. You can bye it online at Zaino Brothers.com.
Easiest wax I mhave ever put on or taken off. I did my stang and my girlfriends GMC Yukon and wiped it off with the same small hand towel. Also did my bike with the same towel as well. Great stuff
