Thoughts on pedal covers
My stock rubber covers are kinda haggard. Thinking about the Steeda 3 piece setup. What do you all think? to much bling or is it a nice add on? Also thinking about the door sill plates too. Been looking into some minor cosmetic upgrades lately as I am afraid I am gonna toss a rod one day here lol.

looking at those customer pics i don't like them. maybe if you already have lots of chrome/billet accents it might look better
Those look like some cheap shizzle based on the customer pictures.
Bullitt pedals? |
Agreed they look cheap and idk dont like them. Id rock these more.

Go with the FRPP Bullitt pedals man, they have a classy and factory look to them. I have them on mine and love them.
Bullitt covers from CJ pony parts, they still sell the actual FRPP sets and not the cheap ass stack racing shit.
Bullitt Pedals FTW.
bullitt.
bullit pedals man. My car came with them... they're great and reasonably non-slip with the little rubber bits. The steeda ones are too slippery for me.

Hrm, those pics on there do look shitty. I have seen them in person and they look nice. So many choices!
i had those.
pain in the ass to install. they grip the rubber on your shoes pretty well though |
I'd just go with the bullitt pedals. Looks like the rest of the forum agrees.
I have them and like them; they will grip really well on your shoes though. Pain to install since you have to drill into the pedal, but still only takes like 20mins.

See I like the look of them also, but they are bling and that is really not me. Hrm...... I'm not sure. But I need something to replace the ripped rubber ones.
Hey Spike, where's that hood?
I'm glad you asked. It's sitting at Keanen waiting for me to get it. It's been there for like 2 months now lol. Don't worry I am getting shit done, its just taking awhile lol.
PS- I just bought a set of Bullitt covers new from 99MustangGT so I fallowed all your advice guys. |
My buddy had the steeda pedals and loved them. They are much bigger then the bullitt covers and I think I like the steeda pedals myself
Only advice on the Bullitt covers, be prepared for war. They are a bitch to get over the pedals, but it's totally worth it. Use HOT water and let the clutch/brake pedals soak for several minutes to soften the rubber and it's a little easier. You'll have to have either a small pry bar or a medium sized flat head screw driver to get them on. Have fun!
I actually put mine on using the hot water method and had a door panel removal tool and it only took me 10 minutes for the clutch, brake and dead pedal. The accelerator pedal was a different story though.
Bullitt and yes a pain to get on but well worth it.

Accel. pedal and dead pedal were by far the easiest of the set for me. You should also do the gas pedal mod while you're at it.

I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, but I set my covers in the sun for 30 min. and used a short flat tip screw driver and some..............Wesson cooking oil. Worked like a charm.
BULLIT PEDALS FTMFW!!
On the Termi they're so much nicer than the factory rubber crap. If you have anything on your shoes though they try to slip until they're dry. A buddy of mine wrecked his bike one night while it was raining and I had a bitch driving home with soaking wet shoes. |
I'm not going to set them in boiling water, that is stupid. Soapy water and leaving them in the hot FL sun should make them easy to install.

Either way it's a bitch to put on, but totally worth it like I said. |
Theyre not that bad, maybe its different for our model cars, but i installed pedals like that on my brothers car and they werent so bad. Bit of WD-40, leverage, and a flattip. Took maybe 10min.
The sun should be enough honestly. I installed mine one night after work so the sun wasn't an option for me, I just used hot water and force lol. I did have trouble with putting the gas pedal pin back in place though. I just ended up using a nut and bolt and used spacers to keep the contacts solid. They really do give a more comfortable feel when driving for something so small.
