head lights

would either of these work for a Chrome Dual Mustang Halo Projector Headlights - LED (99-04) and would either be better than what already comes with these headlights? what do you guys think?

any ideas?

cr4sh_0v3rl0ad 01-22-2010 06:39 AM

Well the first bulbs i believe HID replacement bulbs so if you don't have ballasts they won't work, the second ones, i don't know about. And lastly, personally, IMO, projector headlights are ugly as hell on the 99-04's. :2cents:

krenogin 01-22-2010 08:43 AM

I have no clue. Personally, I'd take that 50 and double ur money for some smoked stock headlights. I fell into a position similar, i lost my blackouts, and had projectors underneath. Just figured id spend around 100 to get a new healight setup.

stanley423 01-22-2010 08:50 AM

I don't like the smoked headlights I just want a led light that fits the chrome halo projector lights for 02 stang. I just don't like how dim my lights are I want them to be bright and right now they are not at all.

2 Attachment(s)
Then why change ur headlight housings? Just invest in an HID system. Dustin (spike africa) sells em.

Stock headlight housing...
Attachment 16109

8000k HIDs...
Attachment 16110

Plenty bright!!!

stanley423 01-22-2010 09:44 AM

I already have the halo projector lights I just want them brighter and the HID system doesn't work with the halo head lights.

cr4sh_0v3rl0ad 01-22-2010 10:33 AM

LOL well then your prolly just shit outta luck. You shoulda stuck with the stock housings n got HIDs

spike_africa 01-22-2010 09:06 PM

What bulb do those projectors use for the low beams?

I'm pretty sure I either carry or can get HID kits for those.

stanley423 01-23-2010 04:27 PM

I think it is the H1 bulb that AM carries.

spike_africa 01-24-2010 06:30 AM

I don't carry that setup, however I can get you them with the custom order option on my website.

You need to be 100% sure of the bulb though.

WNRacing 01-24-2010 06:41 PM

I'm 99.9% sure that it uses an odd bulb size for the actual "projector" itself, something that isn't readily availabe off the shelf. The one that was in my '98 actually had a hard wired bulb, you couldn't unplug it, the wires were actually soldered to the connectors in the bulb housing.

The cheapo aftermarket projectors most likely wouldn't work well with HID's either, they would probably throw light all over the place unlike a real projector. Your best option is to get a standard type headlight and add HID's.

stanley423 01-25-2010 07:30 AM

alright thanks because the head lights I have are the halo projectors that AM sales and it says the HID kit that they sell would not work with the head lights so I was just wondering if it says that the H1 bulb fits in it then they made an LED for it but wasn't sure.

these are the headlights that are on my car. I was wondering if there are any LED lights that go with them or at least how can I make them to really bright head lights.

spike_africa 01-25-2010 08:55 AM

You can add a HID kit to those housings. That's how your going to get the most light.

WNRacing 01-25-2010 09:09 AM

Dustin, what I'm trying to explain is this: Those dual halo "projectors" use two separate bulbs, one for the "low beam" and one for the "high beam." The "low beam" is the bulb that is sealed in the projector and it is a stange size, I don't honestly believe that you're going to have an HID that will fit it, I don't even know if he can replace the "projector" bulb when it burns out.. Plus the "projectors" are really shallow and basically have no room inside, it's a really small bulb.

Good luck with it though.

stanley423 01-25-2010 09:35 AM

I can change the bulb because I wanted to see what kind of bulb was in it and I was able to take it out I just don't think that there is any HID kit that will fit in it. I was just wondering if the LED light in the original post would fit because it is an H1 light which AM says will fit only in the headlight that I have in my car. I was just wondering if any H1 would fit in because I don't want to order it and it not fit.

cr4sh_0v3rl0ad 01-25-2010 09:43 AM

Go to the parts store, buy an H1 bulb, try it, if it fits then you're good. If not, just take it back n sell ur headlights :)

LED Bulbs ARE NOT brighter than filament bulbs, they just produce a cleaner more clear light for things like marker lights and map lights. LED's aren't meant to be used for headlights.

Also, the first link that you posted would require the HID Ballasts to work, so you would be better off using one of Dustin's (spikes) HID kits if it will work.

stanley423 01-25-2010 12:09 PM

yea that is what I figured but I don't think that it will work because AM says HID systems will not work so I was just going to ask yall what light would put out the brightest light. the ones that come stock do not put out enough light so I guess i will just order the lights that AM suggests when you buy the head lights. thanks for the info guys

Yeah, LED bulbs are definitely not brighter.

spike_africa 01-25-2010 04:53 PM

The back screws off from what the photo shows, so if there is a room for the bulb then it should work no problem. Then again I would sell them and stock ones or smoked stock ones instead, but thats me.

stanley423 01-25-2010 05:41 PM

I just don't like the smoked look on a white stang its just not me. Idk maybe I am weird.
