I think a few of you aren't really reading this topic lol. But, the more insight the better, and it can help others out who are reading this with the same question I had.
The CVRs came in yesterday btw, now I just need the amp and I'll be set to have everything hooked up this weekend. It better come in tomorrow >:(

I have 2 10"s in independent sealed fiberglass enclosures on the sides of the trunk and it leaves me with a lot of floor space, love it.

Look apparently everybody on here thinks they are experts on car audio but there are so many different levels of subs and amps and many many things to take into consideration, the size of the does not mean it is louder just b/c it is larger, you could buy a single 10 inch kappa perfect and blow a 15 inch kicker comp out of the water in spl and sq, i prefer tighter bass but i still like it loud that is why i prefer 10 inch sq subs with a sealed enclosure my personal favorite is infinity kappa perfects and JL w7's, in the past ive had 12 inch kicker cvx's, memphis M3's, Kicker L7's that was when i was only doing spl competitions though now im all sq, i know for sure that i do not know everything but ive learned a lot being in competitions and an installer at best buy and circuit city over the years

Good deal Blaze, that was the most popular sub we sold at circuit city back in the day, did you get dual 4 ohm or dual 2 ohm subs??? this is important in the way that you wire them up with your amp, i know kenwood amps claim to be stable at 1 ohm but from my experience they do not run well at 1 ohm they over heat, better to run at 2 ohms

They are 2 ohm. And I shouldn't have to worry about overheating the amp. It has a "BUILT-IN COOLING FAN" :O

cool deal bro well just make sure you or whoever wires them up wires them in series/parallel to get that 2 ohm load

Do you have a diagram on how to wire them in series/parallel? I was planning on wiring it parallel, but it looks like series/parallel will give less resistance.

i just ordered me two jbl p1022,jbl gto 7001 amp, and jbl gto1004 multi-channel amp, should be all done by this weekend, also put in infinty kappa speakers with the amp should sound awesome.

Oh boy.. why all that weight!! Go with the fiberglass wheel enclosures!!! Never had one...heard em..and they are not bad at all!!

I used to drive with 2 SOLO BARIC L7's 10" Ported .. I had it built for the trunk..and was removable, but took a while to move them..sounded bad ass went to a few small competitions locally and hit 152.5 db's.. .
If you were to do 12"s the subs would pretty much be better off with a box facing the sub's at 45 degree facing away from you. Kicker zr1000 - In all i wouldn't ever go all out like that again.. I had added nearly 150 lbs for sound...BLAHHHH

Yes, that's the way I wired them. Well, everything is in and it sounds GREAT. These things hit so hard I've already blown 3 fuses within the first hour, the 1800w amp was tuned very low, and my headunit was more than half way down for everything lol. I'm very pleased with the results. I have bigger fuses in now and they are holding up so far. Thanks again to all of you with the input, it really helped out a lot. Damn these things hit harder than my friend's 12" Orion's.
