cleaning chrome rims

Ok i know this is more of an opinoin question but im wondering how to "restore" my chrome rims. I bought them about 3 months ago from a friend, they're 18 by 9 american racing chrome bullitts.I only paid $350 for the set so it was a good deal. They are kinda dirty and you can see some scrathes on them. My friend used some kind of chrome cleaner and made one rim look like new but he ran out of it. So what can i use to restore my rims? Any good methods?
Thanks

Bottles? you don't need a shit ton of product to clean a rim.

I used to work a body shop for tractor trailers. We used steel wool on chrome. As long as its TRUE chrome, and not just polished aluminum or some other shit, steel wool will not scratch it, and will clean dirt and other shit off and bring the chrome back to a mirror finish. But being as how you said there's already some scratches i'm guessing its not actually chrome, so do like spike says and go with a metal polish.

well today i went to autozone and gave the turtle wax chrome wheel cleaner.Worked very well, i paid $6 for it and my rims look nearly new.

If there are plently of scratches, you may have to/want to get the surface refinished. Stuff from a bottle can only do so much but if you are picky, you can use a cleaner then a spray wax/polymer detailer on them.
