maximum brightness please
I want my mustang's headlights to be so blindingly bright that people think I have my high beams on. Suggestions?
I don't know much about lighting.. but I want maximum brightness and maximum range so I can see farther ahead when I'm doing 80+ on unlit roads Halogen or HID? Would prefer to just swapping bulbs but if I have to replace the setup I could probably deal with that |
Blinding people is not cool and is retarded. For maximum brightness and best possible lighting you would want the HID projector headlights that Ford offered on your car. Add a HID kit to go with them, with 4,300k HID kit is the brightest light you can have, and that will make for the best lighting you can possibly have.

Spike, did Ford offer these HID projector headlights for our model years? I'm assuming not. Not to jack your thread, but would we obtain the best lighting with a simple HID conversion kit and 4,300K bulbs?

Ford did not make HID's for new edge mustangs. the S197 was the first to have projector style headlights offered.
And blinding people isnt cool. Imagine blinding someone driving in the other lane going the opposite direction and they swerve into you. Still fun to have those lights so bright? |

How much of a difference is there between using a 4k h13 replacement bulb OR a 4k h1 with projectors? Because I'd rather not get the projectors, they take away from the classy look of my '09.. Edit: If I just replace the bulbs with H13's will I have to adjust them or will it be fine with the factory adjustment that came on it |
If you really want to have the brightest lights, get some 55 watt HIDs. I'd strongly recommend against doing so, but that's the brightest you can get.

The HID's are brighter than the stock bulbs but use the same housing, the projectors focus the light better from h1 halogen bulbs. Which one of the two will give me maximum distance? probably the projectors since the HID's in the stock housing will scatter light to the sides? They cost about the same but the HID's require less work.. but then the projectors could look meaner if I mess with the wiring.. I don't know what to do... |

The while you would think either higher or lower on the number scale means better or worse light, thats not the case. 4.3k HID kits put out the most light possible. Once you go above or below that number you start to lose more and more light output. However 4.3k is kinda yellow and I would suggest 5k HID kit like I got at the least. Unless you like that kinda white/yellow light.
