Mcdonalds special baby! Now here's the Q...

Should I just strip the mustard yellow paint off and leave it the black powdercoat finish it is originally, or strip it all off and polish it?

engine bay looks like this right now.

Mr. Zip 03-30-2009 12:53 PM

I think black would look better...

mustangvsix 03-30-2009 01:27 PM

Leave that yellow, its good for 10rwhp!!!

but actually paint it black, the polished would not match at all.

Ditto!~

PColav6 03-30-2009 01:46 PM

So you guys are basically saying a polished STB in my engine bay, would be like putting a gloss black 03/04 cobra spoiler on an entirely white car then, right?! :D

Who said anything about gloss black?

Actually, white could look good with the rest of your car.. IDK, may be too bright for all of the plastic. On the other hand, the yellow would match your dura-crap battery quite nicely!

PureStang 03-30-2009 02:16 PM

your missing 2 cylinders

SeanStang 03-30-2009 04:00 PM

What dumbass painted that shit yellow . Although yellow matches the Pee-Cola theme rahter nicely...:p.

White would look really cool actually, but wouldn't wear too well because the hood-liner rubs it slightly. You can see the wear spots on the top corner. Black always looks good, but if you plan on a polished manifold like you were talking about before the stb would look great polished. So what I'm basically saying is if you decide to go with the polished manifold polish the stb too, if not black. Lol.

I like how Pcola put like all of his weights on one dumbbell and conveniently placed it in the first pic. :P

Switch 03-30-2009 04:08 PM

I wanted to be different, so I voted polish.

BikerSk8rKid 03-30-2009 04:33 PM

I like that one better then mine, minus the color though.

PColav6 03-30-2009 04:35 PM

Looks like everyone wants to be black around here. Well I stripped all of the yellow off (and the black underneath), aircraft stripper is some good shit. lol. I guess I'll paint it black for now. Fuggin weather's going to be shit tomorrow-friday so I won't be able to get it done till the weekend.

Conveneniently placed my ass, those dumbells are only 21lb. lol

01FR500 03-30-2009 04:40 PM

I voted black. Unless you plan to polish anything else under the hood it won't match anything and be a lot of up-keep.

spike_africa 03-30-2009 04:54 PM

I actully want to see what It would look like color matched to the car. But it needs to actully be the same color white not some random can of white from autozone.

SeanStang 03-30-2009 04:57 PM

To give an idea of color matched.

What the fuck are you guys talking about? I see the pics fine, even when Kevin quoted it.

Becka 03-30-2009 10:57 PM

I dont see em

King 03-30-2009 11:25 PM

I've been able to see the pics fine every since the thread started.

PureStang 03-31-2009 12:32 AM

if you still have the hood liner on your hood, take it off, you dont need it. i have had mine off for two and a half years and my hood is fine. that will solve the rubbing problem that sean was talking about

You can right click them and copy the links... But hot linking isn't working.

FoxRodder 03-31-2009 08:35 PM

Both will look good but if you already have a little experience with polishing just go for it since most of the prep work is spraying on aircraft remover it should be easy. You shouldnt have to sand anything. Then go ahead and polish a few more things under the hood to make it look more showy.

And did this
Attachment 19225

After I'm done with this I'm going to repaint the CAI, so it will be glossy to match.

King 04-05-2009 04:45 PM

Lookin' good.

krenogin 04-05-2009 04:56 PM

i seriously want his car if he sells it.. everything he does is so professional and tediously done.

Haha..thanks. I wish I could say that about the vinyl blackout though..that was the hardest mod I've ever done, doesn't look so great upclose. Going to get some quotes to have it painted gloss black and get all of the spoiler holes filled this summer...I'm not selling this car with a wing on it.

Wombozi17 04-05-2009 05:37 PM

That blackout looks awesome.
