Fog lights?
As you all know, the v6 models don't come with fog lights. I wanted to know how hard it would be to wire, or get someone to wire up the fog lights to its own, on or off switch. I have thought about having it wired into my parking/headlight switch, but have since decided against it.
Has anyone here done this? I figure I will try to implicate an on/off switch where it would be located on the GT models, near the bottom of the center display. I also want to know if I could somehow get the center display of a GT to make the look more professional. I have tried google and all that comes up are the fog light housings. I want a kit, if there is one. |
www.vmptuning.com sells v6 fog light kits with Ford OEM lights, wiring, and the button. Check it out. I don't know what year car you have or I would link it for you. Its under the appearance section.

Doesn't the V6 model have the hole there just has a plain cap in it instead of the button? that's how all the base GT models without traction control and other v6 cars I have seen are.

This is where I have my rear defroster button:
http://img374.imageshack.us/img374/7...nteriorej9.jpg Maybe it changes throughout the years? I have a '99. I know what it should look like, but I don't have any of the cut outs, or plastic inserts that should be there. Here is what my thing looks like. <-- LOL http://img396.imageshack.us/img396/3389/img00355wr2.jpg http://img396.imageshack.us/my.php?i...mg00355wr2.jpg Sorry, I forgot to set my camera for a smaller image.:p http://img396.imageshack.us/my.php?i...mg00355wr2.jpg |
i might idk i always thought the fog light switch on those years was a button in one of the coin holder spaces behind the cup holder.
|
not quite sure how the 99 model works with the fog lights.

http://images.mustang50magazine.com/...T+Interior.jpg Note the two buttons my the rear of the cup holders. I wonder how much it would cost for me to get the GT console installed... http://autos.augusta.com/images/revi...2403_1_400.jpg Then I would already have a space for the button, plus two other non functional buttons. |
The 99-00 are different then the 01-04 from what I under stand when it comes to fog light, and defrost button placement.

For 99's they go in the coin holder, thats where they are on GT's
