iPod adaptors?

All right guys, I need some help.

I bought a 120G iPod this weekend, and I am already in love with it. Problem is, it won't play in my '05! I bought one of those FM transmitters where you have to tune the transmitter to the radio, and it didn't work worth a crap. I do not want to play my iPod through the radio at all, after hearing how horrible it sounded. I took the FM transmitter back and bought one of the adaptors that plugs directly into an auxilliary outlet and uses a line in/line out cable. Looked around for the line in into the Mustang, and after about an hour of frustrating research, I discovered that the '05's do not have a line in (or is it a line out?) auxilliary jack.

I am looking at getting one of these:
http://www.pie.net/pie_store/shopexd.asp?id=543&bc=no to where I will be able to plug the iPod directly into the adaptor and play straight through the radio, no static, no shittiness involved.

Is this the right thing for me to get? Or have any of you used better adaptors/transmitters?

If I can't find anything good that I can use to play my iPod in my car, I'm going to take it back, even though I don't want to. If it can't be played in the 'Stang, then I have no use for it. :(

I've bought two of the wireless fm transmitters over the years and neither one worked for s*** and I eventually gave up. The constant static and in/out drove me crazy. For my xm I have a hardwired adapter that works great. Blocks out any FM channel when the XM radio is on and ends up being CD quality. I don't think I've seen anything like that out for the ipod but I haven't been searching lately. If you find something that works let me know... wouldn't mind listening to some of the songs on my iphone in the car.

Not sure about that particular one but that style is the way to go, it will give you perfect sound and should not be too hard to install.

have you tried looking in the center console/armrest thing? every 05+ mustang i have been in had one in there.

Yep. The newer Mustangs didn't receive an aux jack until 2007, from what I've read on other forums. I searched my car for about 30 minutes, including the glove box, armrest/center console, directly underneath the dash lip, underneath the steering wheel, underneath the glove box, and several other places and could not find one.

Dave, I will let you know if I find something. :)

If it is there it is in the armrest compartment towards the front.
Plus the auxilary input in the stangs sucks sound wise........
