clear coat problem
i just repainted my car and it has a lot of orange peel in it, can i take it to a body shop and have them just sand off the clear and respray it or do they have to put the base and mid coat back on and then clear it?

im sorry... did i read that right? there are orange peels in your paint?
|
theres really not orange peels in the paint haha, the clear coat has a texture that resembles the bumpy surface of the skin of an orange (fruit) hence the name.

OP, you could get the car wetsanded, that usually gets rid of the orange peel. |
A body shop will wet sand the car's paintwork to level out the paint, eliminating the orange peel. An experienced detailer can do the same thing. They will then polish it to bring up the gloss.
Expect to be charged by the hour for wetsanding and polishing. |
