wheel clear coat.

i rember hearing someone say that instead of waxing rims you can seal them. and i was looking around at auto parts stores today and a guy showed me clear coat tire protectant and i read about it and it looks really cool.

just wanted to know if any of u guys have done this and is it worth it. oh yeah it was a spray too.

wait is this for the tire or for the rim? If you have painted rims(aka your black FR500s') you can just wax them just like you would your car's paint, as for treating the lip, I know there was a discussion about whether or not it was sealed from the company who makes them and I believe the answer was yes they are.

do you mind posting a link to this stuff you are talking about it sounds interesting.

um ill look for a link but i think it was from duplicolor. the guy i talked to said that he did it and it keeps the rims protected and beautiful. not to mention he said that they are really easy to clean. he said it was just like a clear coat for your car but is made for rims.

i was thinking about pulling the rims off and cleaning them really well inside and out and then useing like alchol to really clean them good and then tape off the tire with like news paper and spray them down.
im still thinking about it

here it is:

interesting but I think I will stick to waxing, all it is; is clear coat, that is probably some how slicker then normal clear coat so they can boast that is helps reduce brake dust and easy cleaning. If you do try it, be sure to do a right up on it and post some of your results with it.

Thats just clear coat. Chances are your current rims are already cleared.

tristang 07-20-2008 03:05 PM

then what do i remper about paint sealer for rims.

I would get an old steel wheel of an escort or something and try it on that first before your stang wheels

I just waxed mine real good and be done with it!

Applying paint sealant to the rims does not mean clear coating them. It means applying something like this to them, http://www.detailersdomain.com/index...PROD&ProdID=15
