ANyone use these? if they are even HALF as hood as they show they look worth it.

WOW! That thing looks sham-tastic. I would give it a try if i could buy one for $3. but buying a bunch for 20 bucks and potentially losing out isn't a risk i wanna take.

there comercials are great, and they had them @ a car show in the Orange County Convention Center and they were drying a door that they kept soaking with water, but i didnt see it on windows or shit but the commercial blows my mind.

todd03blown 07-10-2008 07:33 AM

I was told they suck and dont work for shit!!

Dodobird223 07-10-2008 09:10 AM

Isn't it just a chamois?....

Steeda97 07-10-2008 09:12 AM

wow.

spike_africa 07-10-2008 09:55 AM

You can get the same thing for cheaper at alot of stores. Its just a chamois like they said. I have 4 of the absorber ones they sell for cars that are cheap and work great for drying my cars off fallowed up by a microfiber drying towel to get the rest of the car.

SeanStang 07-10-2008 04:03 PM

I use chamois to dry my car. Works great if used correctly. Have to constantly ring it out, or it wont work for shit.

The Shamwow sucks big time, I seriously recommend just using a regular chamios (the cow skin) or waffle weave microfiber towl. The shamwow just sucks.

SeanStang 07-10-2008 06:33 PM

Not sure about the shamwow, but i definatly recomend just a normal chamois.

Yeah, At work we used to use a regular chamois, and a guy bought the Shamwow thinking he and his Shamwow was the shiznit, well the Shamwow sucks. I want my regular camois back.

You dont need to touch your paint with anything to dry it if its properly maintained.

Idk about where you live, but here in Florida you need to dry your car immediately after washing. All the damn calcium in the water will leave white spots everywhere if not dried, properly maintained or not.

juancarlos91 07-11-2008 08:59 PM

i have the samething and it works really well with my car...except its not a shamwow its "the absorber". really worth the money

Guess I should of included using a proper water filtration system.

Bigbadbert 08-23-2008 09:20 PM

I've used 'em too, and they're not so great. They're good for absorbing spills on the carpet, but on the car they don't work for crap. Camoise work 10x better.

King 08-23-2008 09:28 PM

Crap. I was really hoping it was all it was hyped up to be. Every time the commercial comes on I look for anything that could be fake. I planned on getting those this week...bummer

Oh well, what microfiber towel works best? Been wanting to go MF for a while, but wanted to get some feedback from you guys first.
I've used those Jumbo towels at the closest cheap-o car wash place, and they work good but I wanted something that works a little better.

PColav6 08-23-2008 10:05 PM

I have some waffle weave MF towels that work fine.

Got mine at autozone.

White04GT 08-24-2008 08:16 AM

I dry my car with a leaf blower. Works awesome.

Steeda97 08-24-2008 08:26 AM

Use the waffle weave microfiber towel to get as much as you can, then use an electric leaf blower. It really gets the water out of the hard spots, such as hood scoops, 3rd brake lights, trunk lids, wheel lugs, wheel wells, everything.

It really saves time.

spike_africa 08-25-2008 08:47 AM

I use absorbers and MF waffel weave towels.

Steeda97 08-25-2008 08:57 AM

Towels can't get it all. I don't know if its just me, but i hate when i detail my car, and then i drive it up the road and i got water coming out of my hood scoop and a million other places. Leaf blower FTW!

Crimsonred02 08-25-2008 12:41 PM

Shamwow is suck.

Welcome back crimsonred02

stanger1998 08-30-2008 03:36 PM
