cleaning steering wheel

I have a tan steering wheel that is starting to look black. It looks like little small grains of like black pepper stuck to it. Ive tries cleaning it with normal products but no real results. Is there any type of product or process to clean it with the best results.

Are you sure it's not the tan color coming off? If not, uou might try using a toothbrush, just about any low strength cleaner should work. The problem might be your not getting in the tiny little cracks/crevases of the texture of the steering wheel.

Einszett Cockpit Premium (cleaner and protectant which is safe for steering wheels and pedals, etc.) or Plastic + Vinyl Cleaner if you need something stronger, then top it with the Cockpit Premium for protection. Use a microfiber towel with the cleaners. Might need other tools such as toothpicks and or Boars hair brush.

just go buy a FR500 steering wheel. fatter grip, softer leather, perforated as well. feels better in your hands, grips better too.

armor all cleaning wipes here. worked fine for me. did the dash, wheel, shifter, glove box....everything and it gave it all a nice shine

Armor All makes terrible products. Their interior products have been known to cause the interior surfaces to start cracking. A shiny dash can also be dangerous while driving. Not to mention their products contain solvent based silicones. Stay away from them.

good to know! what should i use then for dust cleaning and stuff

For maintaining, Id use Einszett Cockpit Premium every couple weeks or so. It doesnt give the dangerous tacky shine, has anti static properties, is safe for practically every surface INCLUDING the steering wheel, pedals, and rubber floor mats. It doesnt leave the surface sticky, slippery, or hazy. Its a light cleaner/ protectant.
