Rear Seat Deletes, FTL!!!

Has anyone ever seen one that actually looks good?

they all sink way back into the car and it doesent line up with the body panels.

does anyone make one that fits and looks like oem quality?

Unless you got cloth, i like the look of the leather seats in the back. Looks nice.

i have seen one really nice looking one, but i can't find pictures of it.
i saw one where they did a rear seat delete, then on the lower section they built a really nice amp box, with 2 amps and a capacitor.. (the thing i don't like) they put a piece of plexi on top so you can see it. i don't like it because theres is a vert. they leave the top down someone can get into the box and steal the amps easily... but looks good!

I'd be willing to bet that he's talking about the back panel. That's the one that I see that sinks into the panels a few inches.

Bingo.

Bottom part always looks good, but on the 99-04 coupes the seat delete sits far back and it looks like crap.

Never seen one like that Jack. Im sure you could make it pretty easily. Just fill the back side with some foam and cover it.

Nofire 01-26-2008 04:12 PM

I've seen custom ones. But nothing mass marketed.

cpthowdy 01-26-2008 04:55 PM

ehh, not a big fan of r.s.d..i like the look with the seats and it just looks sooo empty back there ifyou take them out

98greengoblin 01-30-2008 07:35 AM

unless the car is a full on race car, why take out the rear seats?

r3dn3ck 01-30-2008 08:50 AM

simple... keeps you from ever getting boned and having to use your mustang as a fuggin taxi. My car holds me and 1 other person with a 34" or smaller waist. Yeah bitches...there's a ass size restriction on my shizzle. Otherwise, I guess rear seats could be useful for ... um... nothing.

For those that have seen the movie Death Proof. You know the passenger seat on Kurts first car... yeah, that's kinda like the back seat of my car. You don't actually want to sit there.

took mine out for a) weight reduction b) no passengers

PColav6 01-30-2008 05:10 PM

In the words of jack "if i want weight reduction I'll take a beefy ole shit"

SnTBakosFinest 01-30-2008 06:45 PM

...take out the rear seats because they are useless theres no room for anything back there, I've seen nice custom ones built with subs ect in there.... but nothing else

PColav6 01-30-2008 07:52 PM

I like my rear seats.

Same here... I bought the one from R.E.M. Automotive. It's the old Motor Company RSD, the one that removes the top plastic piece. The fit is an A- (bottom could fit snugger around the sides), color match is an A, strudyness is an A, basic design is also an A. I had the MMR one before (sold on AM, 50resto, etc.)... The fit was an A, the color match was a C+, the strudyness was a C- at best, and overall design was a C- as well. What I call "design" is the way it actually attaches to the vehicle.

HTH...
