speaker advice..
ok, before anyone says it..i did use the search feature 1st. I can't find the answers I'm looking for though. I have the mach 460 setup, I know about the sticky about putting in a new head unit with the the 460 speaker setup intact. which is something I will most likely do. What I want to know is do aftermarket speakers sound good with a new head unit through the 460 wiring? Has anyone integrated these 3 things together? did it sound good or bad? I have read that new speakers dont sound as good through the 460 setup with the stock head unit, but replacing the head unit with a re-wire does sound good. So what about new head unit, stock wire and new speakers. Please only people that done some modification to the sound system answer.

if your going to upgrade your deck and speakers, upgrade your wiring as well. Cables/wiring is the life of sound quality. good cables will help increase your sound so i would suggest upgrading it all.

I see your point, but I'll also trying to not create a huge job out of this either.

so no one has anything on this subject......

i changed the head unit and the front lower speakers of my mach 460 system. The speakers i bought were not the best; they cost like 100 bucks or so. anyways, after the install, the speakers would pop and shut off under the slightest bass. dont know exactly why, but my advice is to spend the right amount of money and time doing it. If your not sure then i wouldnt do it, the stock system is pretty good as it is. If there's something you dont want to skrew up it your audio system.

that is exactly the answer I was looking for....new head unit+ new speakers+same wire=crappy sound.
|
i would recom. a new head unit- that did not cause mine any trouble- as for the speakers tho, either go very high quality or dont even bother. the stock speakers are good the way they are unless you like a huge amount of bass. for everyday music tho, you cant go wrong.

I already have a 10" sub, so im set on bass. I just want a clearer sounding system.
