Best Tire Gel
So i bought the Eagle One Tire Gel, with that built in applicator. Looks great. Problem is, my cars white, and after i drive two feet it looks like someone spray painted the sides of my car. I've heard this as being called "sling", or "spin off" I've waited hours before driving after applying. Still a mess.
Whats the best tire gel, that doesn't give me a heart attack when i look at my car after driving it? |
I use Meguiars and no sling.

Armorall gel

I prefer the sprays UNLESS I am going to a serious show. I use the Hot Stuff spray most of the time. Takes seconds to put on and does not fly off everywhere. Goes on even too.
|
sprays don't last long at all, though.
Rub the gel in enough with a towel and it shouldn't fling off... |
Armor All = Junk.
I use Black Magic Tire Gel. Just don't slop it on and it will not sling, lasts for about 2-3 weeks. |
I have like 3 different tire shines. I have Tire Wet for my fenderwells, tire gel and that meguiars hot shine spray foam. The foam just gets all over my wheels and pisses me off, and the gel gets everywhere. ugh. White sucks!
|
i like the regular tire shine stuff. I let it sit for about 30 minutes and then take off. i use the spray not the foam or gel, i didnt know they had a gel.
|
Griots Vinyl and Rubber dressing looks sexy on my low-pros when I ran out of the gel shit in the orange bottle the other day. Im not sure if the griots is designed for tires or not....i know they sell a product specifically for tires

I use the spray from obsessivedetail.com easy on 10 min. dry no spots on the white car. I haven't used but have a package from LORD Chemical (a little pricey $60 for 2 6 month treatments) comes with cleaner , treatment and instructions.
|
meguiars hot shine the spray bottle though. After you put it on let it sit in the sun for a half hour or so and you won't have a problem. Only time its ever gotten all over my car was when i drove within 5mins of putting it on. And i use a scrubber to get the excess spray off which seems to work pretty well.

Chemical Guys V.R.P. Safe water based formula for tires, wont brown them like a lot of OTC tire shines with silicone, dry to the touch so it wont attract dirt or sling, dont need to wait hours for it to dry, leaves the tires with a very nice clean looking shine, not a tacky shine thatll make your tires shine more then your rims, can be sprayed on or applied via applicator.
Best tire dressing out there, and Ive tried a lot. For the wheel wells I just use the cheapest spray I can find. |
Meguiars has no problems at all and smells nice, I use it on my interior and engine bay also but you need to wipe it off in the engine bay or it will gum up a bit...

You put tire shine in your interior WTF?

WTF is right, I suggest you stop doing that. Sounds like its silicon based to me. V.R.P is water based and can be used on your dash and tires. I dont use it on the dash because it gives a tacky shine. That Meg's stuff is specifically made for tires.
But hey, its your car. Just post up if your interior turns brown. |
