cleaning car
ok, so i am running out of car cleaning things. and need new.. I was thinking about going and getting the meguiares perfessional. I want to make my car shiny as much as possible w/o a buffer till i can get the money for one... or would yall reconmend another brand, for the wash, clay, polish, wax, plastic shiny, wheel shiny, and interior..

There are alot of good brands and not many shitty ones so you cant go wrong really. I personly like the Poorboys line of products they arent very exspensive but last long and shine and work great and the best for me detailing cars is that you can use there waxes and sealents in the sun unlike alot of others which is nice for me.
You can google poorboys detailing products to see all there stuff. |

You can google poorboys detailing products to see all there stuff. you could spend a few thousand bucks on car detailing stuff and you still wouldn't have tried EVERYTHING. A good inexpensive product line that you can find locally at carquest is duragloss. Poorboys stuff is good but i'm not sure how easy it is to find locally, so it depends on if you need your car cleaning stuff right away or not. try www.autogeek.net or www.autopia-carcare.com and you will see how many diffeent brands there are |
You cant get poorboys anywhere but from the net pretty much.
|
Poorboys is definitely a good product to use. Most online car care websites have it for sale.
|
ok i will look at poorboys.
i was only thinking megs perfessional, becasue i can talk to my local orileys and get them to stock it for me... which would be really nice... ok now when i get some what would yall reconmend?? i am wanting stuff from wash to finished... wheels, engine, inside, outside. |
The Absorber. A drying "thing". Best spent 15$ I've spent on a car cleaning product ever. Should be available at local Autozone or Napa.

If you go to this site and look at the kits he sells you can get a nice poorboys polish and wax or sealent plus a set of good microfiber towels for a damn good price its a nice starter kit.

wal-mart (or cosco for the yank's in here) sells the absorber thing for like 5 bux or sumthi'n like that. as for buffers, i got one from the same place for 25 i think. it works, it goes in circles/ovals.

+1 on the absorber kicking ass
And, although it may seem gimicky, Turtle Wax Ice is awesome, I have always used turtle wax products and was very excited to see a *new-fangled* type product come from them, and I have used it and it works wonders... true blue is a very tricky color, but the turtle wax ice polish gives the best results without using a buffer in the shortest amount of time... love using it everythere! |
Another good detailing product line is the adams stuff. my friend only uses there items and there top notch products that work really well. Im still a poorboys fan more so then adams. The meguires professional line is really good as well.

-1000 on the absorber unless you want swirls and marring. Any dirt still on the paint after washing will just be grinded into the paint.

suprised no one has mentioned a "california wiper blade" for drying the car up.
|
Again, use that if you wish to induce marring.
|
I've always been afraid to use those California car dusters in fear of them marring. Anybody else use those?

Yeah that's exactly what I figured. I cringe everytime I see somebody run their finger across a dirty car. lol... It's like it sends chills up my spine.

Nice i detailed a 2007 c230 merc and the owner had been washing it with dish soap and using a dish cleaning sponge. Looked alot like that i spend a good 2 hours just removing swirls etc...

|
Yeah, I know what you meant. Got any before and after pictures?
|
Naw i never take my camera; though i should to show other customers my work.
|
Yep. Hopefully it didnt have too many swirls since it was an 07.
