Headlights foggy!

So how can i restore my headlights back to new since they are foggy or do i have to go out and new ones? They where foggy when i purchased my GT!

take em out, let them dry, then put some silicone around them, and then pop em back in call it a day!

Its on the outside! Like the clear coat on the light covers are going bad!

Get some very fine rubbing compound and start rubbing. If it is very rough, start w/ wet sanding.

Wet sanding is def not needed yet, especially sinse it sounds like he hasnt tried anything else. http://autogeek.net/headlight-lens.html

Ditto ^^^^^^^^

You can also try Meguiar's Plast-X. That is basically a polisher/cleaner/protectant in one. And also you should be able to find that at your local car store. It might take a little buffing with a normal applicator pad unless you have a smaller lighter cutting pad.

common problem due to UV's, esp in hot southern states, you can try polishing them out like posted above or we can sell you new ones for $79.95 each + shipping

My original hadlights did the same thing, moisture on the inside and crapy lense on the outside. I got the clear corner headlights about two years ago, from MT, they are starting to get bad now. I have to take them out every now and then to dry them out, still haven't decided on what I want to do about the lesnses though.

Everytime you wash your car, wax your headlights religiously and they will stay good.
