Apperance of Bumper
Ok i have v6 mustang. I'm geting dual exhaust. So would it look better if i kept the stock v6 bumper or got the GT bumper?
|
well, if you dont want the exhaust tips below the v6 bumper get the GT so you can have the exhaust cutouts its really personal prefernce and its looks a lot nicer with the exhaust cutouts my VOTE GT BUMPER!

x2 GT bumper.

Gt

Depending on your funding, the GT bumper looks great, but you can always have a body shop do the cutouts on the stock bumper..
|
Personally I'd opt for the Cobra bumper with the "Cobra" filled-in like a couple of the guys on here. I know Badfish has that setup and I think it is a good looking option for dual exhaust, plus it sets your car out from the rest of the pack.

Yeah I love the Cobra rear bumpers. I still have my v6 bumper on, but if I ever had to get a new one I would have it done like Badfish. I Would either stick with stock or get the filled in Cobra bumper. One of my friends is always mistaken for a GT (not really a bad thing) because a lot of the time you can only differentiate a GT from a v6 is from the exhaust and rear bumper, other than badging, but people still ask me what 232 means, even at shows.

This is Jon's (Badfish) Cobra bumper. It is "shaved" basically, they fill in the letters "COBRA" and sand it down flush...

Looks like this thread might apply to me too now. I got rear ended yesterday on my way to the drag strip, and the worst part, I only improved by a couple of tenths lol. 15.885 @ 86 mph .195 r/t. (spining off the line and spining from 1-2 shift hurt me for probably at least two tenths) So now I need a new rear bumper (filled in cobra bumper), new trunk lid (thinking maybe a carbon fiber one to match my hood with a carbon fiber cobra R spoiler, taking a chance with those), 3rd brake light and my SS inserts are bent to heck. Anyone know where a good place to get all that from.

I assume Bondo/Fiberglass, and alot of sanding..

What!! lol. Bondo is also called body filler or something like that. You can usually buy it at Wal-Mart in the automotive department around where they keep the duplicolor paint and fiberglass. You can use Bondo to fill in scratches, dings, or other stuff like for smoothing out fiberglass subwoofer enclosures. I have alot of of for when I made my enclosures and when I smoothed out my trunk latch cover. Read up on it on the internet and find a project you can do with it.
