What are you guys/gals using to seal your tailights from water leaks. Mine are almost flooded after washing the car yesterday.

Icefreezen 04-24-2006 11:25 AM

I've never seen taillights get filled with water...you must be lucky....lol.....anyways I sealed my headlights with silicone sealant. Its a few bucks at the auto store

Damn, I've seen lights get moisture in 'em, but not filled up like that!!! Did both of 'em fill up?

use silacone all around the edges, and then when yo put bulbs back in use some vasline or bearing grease on there seal to the housing and that will not let water in.

Screw sealing them. Plop a goldfish in there and call it good. You might start a new trend.:pepper:

Thats right, i forgot we took them off when the bumper was re-painted.

wow as long as I have owned a mustang I have never seen this before. Are these new lights or the ones that came from the factory? Not sure what to use to seal them up.

I am quite sure this is the reason. We took the lights out when the bumper was re-painted.

Looks as if your taillight is cracked on the farthest bar to the right, on the left hand side.

I used a plastic tank repair kit from Murrays to fix the hole. This stuff works great and easy to use.

MattJ 04-30-2006 02:24 PM

why dont you just buy a new one on ebay? They are really cheap.
