Supercharger question
Does anyone know if the Supercharger off of a 2003-2004 Cobra will work on a Mustang GT 2003?
|
the only cobra that comes with a supercharger the 03-04 and its not worth the money youd be spending to make that supercharger work on your car. cheaper to go with a kit
|
Aint that the truth
|
Any recomendations?
Anyone have any recomendations for supercharger kits for an 03 GT?
|
check out modularpowerhouse.com...they have kits called mongoose kits and they have different kits containing all u need (s/c, fuel pumps, injectors, maf, tuner/chip)....they also have a forum too...ull see a few of us on those forums too......mainly maddmatt and springs stang....
seems like the vortech s/c is the most popular..the sq is proven to make 360 rwhp on stock engine and a safe tune.... |
Yea, get the mongoose. Everything you need, and will run like a champ.

Did procharger ever get their seal issues worked out?
|
that is a myth.. ive never met anyone with any problems from procharger vortech or anybody for that matter... but for wut its worth the stage 2 does have reworked internals - and the so called seal issue is undoubted cured....

You could in theory use the M112 off the 03 cobra but you'd need a lower intake to mount it on. A roush or saleen lower intake from their supercharger kit would probably work. Not saving much on the cost though and it's a big engineering effort to make everything work when you half ass it like that.
For supercharged street cars, I like Vortech for centri's and Kenne Bell for positive displacement. KB is a twin screw which is much more efficient than the M112. Centri's have to spin up a bit so you don't get full boost right away. Positive Displacement blowers are big, give almost instant boost response and get to full boost in a hurry. I don't like powerdyne or procharger. Superchargers need gears and oil. Belts break, period. Lots of circulating oil is needed to keep the gears cool, clean and well lubed. Don't comprimise durability for a few hundred bucks. |
