Quad turbo?

So ive heard about STS turbo with there rear mounted turbos, but never gave them mush mind because I didnt really see it working right. My friend however just had a dual kit installed on his g35 and saw a 57% horsepower increase. This got me thinking, if the block was reinforced enough, along with internals, would it be possible to mount 4 turbos this way? I mean with the correct tune would it be possible to run a set-up like that? Piping may be an issue, and the pay off may not be worth it, but it possibly could right? Is there something im missing, or is this feasible?

Why would you do it? What's the point? I'm sure it could feasibly be done, but there's no point. The Veyron has quad turbos, but it's also a W16 engine. Sounds like something a ricer on his honda would do just to try and look cool.

It would not work well without very custom and fairly small hybrid turbos. You'd need a pretty small hot side on all 4 and a modest size cold side. the big downside would be all the lag. The veyron gets away with 4 turbos because each 1 can be thought of as running a bank of 4 cylinders (IIRC the veyron's turbo configuration is a bit more complicated). There's plenty of exhaust flow from a w16 but nowhere near enough for a smallish-inch v8, especially if you're going to have 2 runs of 12 feet of small diameter pipe for the motor to suck air through. Seems like corks everywhere.

FWIW, while the STS system does in fact function it is SHIT for efficiency. If they stuck those turbos where they go they'd make a shit ton more power and not have 30ft of oil lines and TONS of piping running under the car.

For best efficiancey you really want the turbo to be as close to the engine as possible without cooking it. If the turbos are all the way at the back of the car that is a relatively long distance for the exhaust to travel and cool down. You are way better off with a turbo integrated into the header.

STS turbos are a fucking joke. Like r3d said, sure they make power but its completely against every rule of mounting a turbo. You want as little piping as possible, and it to be as cool as possible at the same time.

Don't even get me started on quad turbos. I hope thats a joke. And I hope you never waste your money on it.

There are single turbo 3vs out there pushing upwards of 700-800rwhp. You would kill yourself before you ever needed any more than that.

all you need is just one turbo to blow your motor. Depending on the size

Im not saying im going to doit, fabrication alone would be a financial nightmare. I was merely wondering if was feasible and if so efficient
