Nitrous question for a friend

In an intercooled turbo car (such as an 02 WRX) you would want the fogger to go after the intercooler correct

I'm pretty sure so yes. You wouldn't want it going before and then being condensed by the cool air hitting the intercooler, it prove to make some akward issues in my mind.

Lazerred6 09-24-2009 11:44 AM

Yeah I'm pretty sure gas in the intercooler is a bad thing

We just need to make sure that the fogger nossle isn't going to get pushed out of the tube by the boost (he is running stock psi not sure what that is though)

also he doesn't want to run anything higher than a 75 on the 4 cyl and thats a maybe he really only wants a 50 shot but I told him that he would get bored with just 50

08mustang_gt 09-24-2009 11:52 AM

Hmmm....that's a good point. Idk if there is a way to be fore sure that its not going to pop out. I have never heard of it, but I have also never put nitrous in a turbo car.

I agree though. A 75 shot sounds perfect. He's going to have a hard time not hitting the rev limiter after boost kicks in though. I'm sure once that power band kicks in its gonna pull like a bitch lol.

A 50 just sounds too small, that seems like it would do almost nothing for him.

Is the car an 02 WRX?

Lazerred6 09-24-2009 12:10 PM

Yeah it's an 02 wrx with 50k on it so the motor is still pretty fresh

08mustang_gt 09-24-2009 12:18 PM

So is he just wanting to be able to eat up so STis? Lol

You can do it before or after it doesn't matter. Colder air the better so before is where I would mount the nozzle. Just like on a any other car I would put it in the intake tube.

Lazerred6 09-24-2009 01:27 PM

But if it's in the intake tube wouldn't it have to go through the turbo and the intercooler

I could be wrong but it just seems like having gas in the turbo would be a bad thing:confused:

Nope there is nothing wrong with doing that. What do you think happens when people spray methanol into a car. Or roots or positive displacement blowers like the 03-04 cobra guys who spray right into the blower. Nothing wrong with doing that at all.

Also nitrous on a turbo car is going to make it have full boost almost instantly because of the sudden burst of power.

When you explain it that way it makes so much sense
