Is it safe to leave the bottle in the car 24/7/365?? With the hot ass heat down here i don't want it to be baking in the sun enought to where it would build up too much pressure and blow a seal or something.

How is it baking in sunlight? It's in your trunk isn't it?

Ive had a bottle of soda explode im my car due to the heat so no I wouldnt leave it in the car. Its a mess to clean up.

Safe as in won't blow your shit up or safe as in you won't sit in your car and get all screwed up from the nitrous?

It won't blow your car up or some crap, hopefully its got a blowdown fitting installed.

If it doesn't have a blowdown fitting, well, the nitrous will be released into your vehicle, at which point, when you sit in there, prepare to get tore up cause you will be hiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh (prolly idk)

But out in Cali, when its 110+ degrees where I live..I kept the bottle in the car..no biggie, just don't spray with the pressure being that high. :)

it doesn't have a blow down tube so basically if it gets too much pressure it just releases it self right from the bottle by the valve right??

my definition of safe was basically wondering if the heat of the car being in the sun could ever be enought to get the bottle to the pressure required to blow the nitrous out.

Yes it COULD happen. And depending on what bottle you have, there IS a burst disc already on the valve covered by a plastic cap in the back. It varies from valves though.

blow down tubes are fairly cheap. Check out harrisspeedworks.com or dynotunenitrous.com for the blowdown + fittings

dynotunes blowdowntubes are stainless steel braided line, and i would recommend that, so you are trying to bend a friggin tube around and shit..

This was discussed on a nitrous forum. They still have not been able to figure out how that could have possibly happened.

I mean, if the previous owner had it in his car, and it caught fire, it'd be charred ect and why use it? If it heated up enough to actually MELT the release cap..then other things would have probably melted.

I mean, its a pretty simple setup -

Heat builds pressure, the pressure is released via the relief cap, which is, tiny, and is replaced every time you take off the blowdown tube fitting.

The cap is setup to break under x amount of pressure.

Theres nothing that can really fail there.

Basically, without the blowdown tube, the only thing that will happen is the burst disk will go and your whole inside of the car will get really really cold and covered in frost.

With the blowdown tube, it's routed outside the car.

Either way, the chances of it happening from the heat of the sun are slim, but there.

Lets see I have kept it in my car for 4+ years and no problems. I have seen the gauge up in the 1350psi rang from heat, but never higher and that was during the summer parked on top of the UCF parking garage all day on a 100* day. You will be fine with it in the trunk should not be a problem for you either. Regardless it would just break the burst disc like he said.

cool beans going out to reistall the solenoid and window switch then let er rip so wish me luck....oh btw there was nothing wrong with the window switch after all. I sent it back and they sent me a brand new one but i found out i needed a tach adapter so i got one from msd

I'll be getting a blow down tube when I get a nitrous kit. They can be had so cheap, why not. Glad to hear you got the replacement parts in.

Should of just sent that crap back and got an MSD window switch.

i would have had to get the tach adapter with the msd one too...you didn't because your coil on plug

MSD one I have is its own tach adapter. You are thinking of the older Pill style ones that needed a tach adapter to work.
