Nitrous Problem

I have a 2001 mustang gt with all bolt on mods possible...i recently bought the Nx express 2v plate set up and had it installed by a speed shop. I am running a 100 shot. The shop has closed and i am having problems. I have the dynotune window switch and everytime i activate nos it starts to take off and then sputters out. I have the upgraded spark plugs and had the 4 degrees timing taken out. What could be the problem or what is the next step. Hopefully an easy fix. Thanks

What are the plugs gapped to? They should be gapped at .030. Are you also running a fuel pressure shut off switch?

Yeah it sounds like the FPSS is shutting the kit down.

not for sure...how do i check that and is there any way to turn it down so that it doesnt cut out...thanks for the replys

hope you mean 0.030. there is a big difference from that to 0.300.

Yes, you can adjust the FPSS. I think you want to turn it counter clockwise, but it will tell you in the manual, so look in there.

SO does it feel like the kit is shutting on/off a lot when this happens?

Graderbird2004 03-07-2009 05:43 PM

Yes sorry..they are gapped at .030. Whenever i kick on the nitrous the rpm switch kicks on and as soon as i feel the nitrous ready to kick in, it starts to sputter like its not gettign enough fuel or it is choking out, i shut the nitrous off and car runs perfect.

Sounds like the FPSS. Get that adjusted and report back.

if the car is sputtering it sounds like you are getting the extra fuel for the nitrous, but the actual nitrous is not flowing. Have you checked to see if the solenoids click and are in fact opening and closing. Also see if the nitrous supply line is clogged.

uh..stupid question but... you filled up the bottle right? =x
