Turbo, twin screw or centrifugal? need help.

Hello. My friend has a 2007 mustang that he wants a power adder. He cant really decide what he want since he dosnt really have too much knowlege in this area. I was telling him about the STS single and twin turbo kits (I think there pretty badass) and he was told by some other people super chargers might be better. So what do you guys think? He should be good with around 400+rwhp. Also could someone tell me the stock hp of an 07 mustang? Thanks for your help.

tell him to get the saleen blower so he retains the factory warranty. Make sure it's installed by a shop. With the Saleen blower he should be hitting 400hp with minimal boost.

Stock rated hp is 300bhp. They've been hitting or exceeding that figure pretty reliably. Mild mods can really help too... a CAI and tune is worth 25hp on those things... bizarre but true.

As for which he should get in the turbo/twin/centri debate. It doesn't really bloody matter unless he's a dyno racer. Fact is you put boost on an 05+ motor and they gush power. If you want every last bit, you go turbo and pay a ass can full of money. If you want nice street manners with boost ready just off idle, then twin screw (Saleen), if you want boost coming in a little farther up the rpm band (2000-2500 or more) but climbing from there to infinity.. then centrifugal is good. Any reputable maker will turn out a kit that'll make your buddy squeal with delight behind the wheel and squeal with pain at the gas pump.

yeah if he wants to retain the warranty get the saleen. I think its only 4-5 pounds of boost and he should be right around 400. also ium not sure but i think maybe the steeda (magnacharger) and rousch blowers retain the warranty, not sure about the steeda though.

If he doesnt care about the warranty I say the STS or a vortech. both are great, those stock 3v's can handle a lot more than stock 2v's

The Saleen kit is very nice and simple to install. But they have you keep the OEM injectors and MAF setup, both of which are flat pegged, and their calibration is not the best. Put a C&L on it, add 39# injectors, and a real tune, and a 5-speed car should hit 400 RWHP at 4.5# boost (I've done it, and I'm no guru!). If you want the warranty and an out-of-the-box setup, I would consider the Roush or Whipple kits.

saleen kit would be nice, but it will use lots more gas than a centri or turbo. The procharger kits for those cars are nice. I'd go with the new hellion turbo kit for the 05+ cars if I had alot of money though. It would make the most power and be the most fun imo.

i would think the roush would retain the warranty
and they say wit the roush you can get up tp 500hp but its also a grand more than the saleen

I would turbo it. Turbos make the best power hands down because of their efficiency.
